Washi is a traditional Japanese rice paper. We have selected hand printed washi from small artisan in Kyoto. Their print patterns are originated from kimono fabric in the late 19th century. They are dyed with hand cut stencils using a paint produced in the Kyoto region.
Lamps come in 2 heights.
Washi lamps short are 28cm height, 12.5cm diameter, available in 6 colours and patterns:
hex/red, maple stripe/pink, maple ptripe/purple, maple/yellow, maple/green and wave/grey.
Washi lamps tall are 50cm height, 12.5cm diameter, available in garden pattern, in red, navy blue or grey.
They take maximum 40 watt bayonet fitting bulb. But we recommend using energy saving bulb, which is better for the long term use.
All the lamps are manufactured in UK to support local industry & for less carbon emission.
